Pre-Employment Screening

Thank you for your interest in Gen Transport LLC. To apply for a driving position, you need the following items and/or information:

  • Current CDL Class A License with NO RESTRICTIONS
  • Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) history for the past 7 years
  • Current Medical I.D. Card
  • Twic Card (optional) (go to tsa.gov/for-industry//twic to schedule an appointment or to apply online)
  • Updated Local Background Check
  • Completed Drug Test (We will perform a pre-employment screening and random testing while employed with Gen-Transport LLC)
  • Social Security Card or Passport
  • Home address history for the past 3 years
  • Employment history up to 10 years
  • History of traffic accidents, violations and/or convictions from the last 3 years (including DUI or reckless driving conviction and license suspension)
  • Complete I-9 and W-4 Form
  • Once the application is reviewed and accepted, please read and agree to Payrate
  • Complete Direct Deposit form for Pay (Please see the 2022-2023 pay schedule to see payment dates)

Driver Responsibilities and Requirements

We are searching for a cautious CDL driver to transport intermodal drayage and general freight. The CDL driver should secure cargo containers or freight and transport these to the designated ports or terminals. You should perform all duties within the confines of the law.

To ensure success as a CDL driver, you should pay close attention to the cargo and freight being delivered to avoid company losses. An exceptional CDL driver will be able to drive in all conditions, regardless of the time of day.

CDL Driver Responsibilities:
  • Determining the details of each delivery.
  • Collecting and loading freight or cargo in a manner that prevents breakage.
  • Ensuring that the truck has sufficient fuel at all times.
  • Informing clients and Gen-Transport LLC of potential delays.
  • Stopping for frequent rest breaks along the journey.
  • Delivering freight or cargo to ports on or before each deadline.
  • Completing, storing, and submitting all necessary documentation.
  • Keeping track of all reasonable expenses and submitting proof thereof to obtain refunds.
  • Reporting all vehicle-related issues for urgent attention.
CDL Driver Requirements:
  • Relevant CDL Class A License with NO RESTRICTIONS
  • Certification from Driving School attended (preferred but not required)
  • Experience operating similar vehicles for work purposes.
  • Driver is able to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Comfortable using GPS equipment.
  • Ensuring that you are always fit to maneuver the truck.
  • Compliance with all road and transport rules.
  • Ability to drive safely, irrespective of the weather or time of day.
  • Top-notch time management, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
  • Exceptional stamina.
  • Capacity to work for days on end, if needed.
  • Driver is able to complete tasks outside of their job description, if needed.
